Why is it the rain always fall heavily and harsh on the days I’m stuck at work? After 3 days of misery and downpours, I finally have a day off to curl up on the couch under my Tibetan blanket with a DVD and tea….and while it remains cloudy and bleak, the rain appears to be holding off….probably until I have to leave the house, s it seems the dark little stormclouds you see in comics are actually following me around. Can I help it if I’m in a stormy mood? It’s not like I did any rain dancing recently! (Friday night doesn’t count – I still maintain it’s normal dancing!)
Meanwhile, running through my mind is the poor attempts of the Australian government to ensure a steady supply of water. Here I am, soaking my way through puddles and glad I’m not in a basement apartment if the floods arrive…while back home people can barely bathe, drink and the grass is most probably dead by now. When will the rains arrive? What type of world do we live in where one part of the world doesn’t have time to recover before the next set of downpours arrive, while in another people seem shocked at the wet stuff falling from the sky?
On the other hand, I know which part of the world I’d rather be in…now all I need is a pair of wellies and a trench coat!
